will each school put their cut-off limits during the NMAT in their admission

Anonymous said...

Hi Mr/Ms Anonymous. As far as I know, each school really does set its cut off NMAT score. I think it would be helpful to ask the med schools you are trying to apply for so that you'll know what score you need to be targeting.

Anonymous said...

what if the nmat results is lower than the cut-off score?Am i still have the chance to be accepted in med schools?

Anonymous said...

I cannot answer for the school you're applying for. The policy of each school differs, some might consider your application (especially if you have good grades in your baccalaureate years), and some may not be so lenient with the set NMAT score. But if you really want to get into a specific school, you could still give it a shot.

When will be the next NMAT exam? how will i know the schedule?

Anonymous said...

The NMAT is given every April and December. You could visit CEM's website for the schedule, or try to ring them up.

What is the age requirement for going to medical school? I heard that some schools admit 40ish students. I am on my mid 30s.

Anonymous said...

does the net offer some review materials for NMAT?thank you!

Anonymous said...

Hi. You could check my other post. NMAT Review resources.

Sorry for the very late reply Ms. Maricor. :) So far, from what I have read in the forums, there is no standing age limit in med schools. I believe I have read of a man also applying in his mid thirties and eventually getting accepted in FEU-NRMF.

Hi everyone! I`m a teacher BUT it has always been my dream to become a doctor of medicine and I`m already 40;-(. Do you think I still can be accepted in a reputable medical school? Pleeeeese help!

hi, I recently passed the NLE and was planning on taking NMAT on december and enroll in medschool june 0f 2011. i would like to ask if you have ideas if there are companies who offer scholarships to well-deserved med aspirants?

Aubrey said...

Hi Anonymous. Med schools usually offer scholarships for those with good undergrad grades (an above average NMAT score also helps too). Best thing to do is to try calling up schools you're interested in.

DOH also has Pinoy MD, a scholarship program for well deserving but financially less capable students. The catch is you must be willing to practice in the country for 10 years after graduating, and render services for public hospitals as well as provincial communities during summer break. It's great if you have no plans going abroad and would really like to stay in the country.

Hi Ms. Teacher. :) I don't think I'm the best person to ask, but it might be worth to call up schools you're interested in. There might be some who impose an age limit but I'm sure there are others who don't.

The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs dreamers who do.

Are there any subject requirements to apply to a med school? I've seen in some websites of some medical schools that they only require a bachelors degree. I am a graduate of psychology.

Hi. Your blogs regarding NMAT are really helpful. Greatly appreciated. Anyway, I'm an incoming junior and I've heard that we can already take the NMAT. Is this true? Second, if it is possible for me to take the test this coming December and, say, I didn't get the score I wanted, can I take the test again the next April or December? I checked the CEM site but no info regarding my concerns. :) Thank you!
